Who Are We?
We Love Kids!
We love their cute little faces, their innocence, honesty, curiosity and their playfulness. Nohi Kids is my love of kids and my love of design morphed into one cute little package. We create the softest(!!), high quality, and eco-friendly clothes that appeal to both kids and their grown-ups. We are the favorite dress or shirt that your child won’t take off. And, we want to be sure that our clothes are durable enough so that you can pass them down to the next lucky kid.
Come see us at our store, Bird and Bean in Berkeley, CA!
What’s A Nohi Kid, Anyway?
In the Maori language, nohi nohi means, “to be small”. In Japan, Kodomo Nohi, one of the most popular national holidays, is a day to celebrate children. And, in Hawaiian, Nohi means brightly colored and vivid. So, I suppose a Nohi Kid is a bright, vivacious little thing just oozing with personality!
Our Soft, Scrumptious Fabric & Other Product Information
Our fabric is a special combination of certified organic cotton, viscose from bamboo, and a hint of spandex to keep it washing well and lasting forever.
We use low-impact, water-based inks for printing and we comply with all CPSIA guidelines to ensure that all of our products are lead-free and safe.
We do NOT treat any of our products with flame retardant chemicals. As such, all of our sleepwear complies with the “snug fitting” CPSIA guidelines for items that are not treated with flame retardant.
We love our fabric combination and think that the weight and softness can’t be beat!
We Try To Be Responsible And Play Fair
We have a very personal relationship with our manufacturer. We chose to work with them because of their integrity and meticulous attention to detail. And, most importantly, they maintain a social accountability standard that ensures workplace safety, fair working hours and decent wages, no discrimination and no child labor. The company that produces our viscose from bamboo fiber holds an Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification as well as ISO 9000 Quality Management and ISO 14000 Environmental Management certificates.
All certifications are available upon request.
